Round-Head Adapter

On April 29, 1958, Richmont Founder Frank Livermont received patent number US2832246 A, for interchangeable heads on wrenches.

Customers tell us they want an interchangeable head system to be fast, easy, durable, and safe. Our legacy set pin/anvil system performs well in all types of torque applications just like it has all along.

Not only have we given our customers fast, easy, durable and system interchangeable head systems since 1958, we’ve added a second system.

Now our interchangeable head wrenches come with two options:

  • Quick Change system (Thumb Powered)
  • Legacy set pin/anvil (Screwdriver or CART tool required)

With the Quick Change interchangeable head system heads are attached and removed by using your thumb to apply pressure to the side of the head and push it off the dovetail.  What is the right application for this system?

  • Assemblers work at a bench where all the torque applications are parallel to the floor.
  • They change heads frequently.
  • All the torque values are less than 250 Ft/Pounds.

If workers are pulling on fasteners from all different angles 0r they are applying torque values of more than 250 Ft/Lbs, the Legacy set pin/anvil system is the appropriate choice.

Our high quality, cast, one piece, interchangeable heads work on both the Quick Change system, or the Legacy set pin/anvil system. You can use both systems and only have to buy one head.  Less inventory, less to manage, more time getting work done!

Sometimes one head is really better than two!

Here is a photo of both interchangeable heads systems. You can immediately identify the system type by looking at the center of the anvil. If it is a ball, it is the “thumb powered” Quick Change system.

No matter which system you choose, our interchangeable heads all work on either system.

Sturtevant Richmont quality and durability comes to you two ways, based on your needs in each torque application situation.
